Awareness creation training given on Special Economic Zone Proclamation No. 1322/2016

Gada Special Economic Zone has given awareness training on the implementation of the Special Economic Zone Proclamation 1322/2016 at Adama.

Gada Special Economic Zone Director General, Mr. Motuma Temesegen, delivered an opening message at the awareness creation forum, stated that the efforts to transform our economy will be done effectively in short period of time and urged everyone to act with a sense of responsibility and ownership.

The Director General also stated that since the new special economic zone proclamation requires learning while practicing the new law, we all have to work responsibly and quickly for its implementation.

Participants from Oromia President Office-Oromia Central delivery Unit (OCDU), Gada Special Economic Zone, Oromia industrial park Development, Oromia Investment and Industry Bureau, Oromia Attorney General, East Shoa Zone High Court as well as Oromia Public Enterprise Bureau took part in the awareness creation training.

The Special Economic Zone Proclamation was approved by the House of Representatives with Proclamation No. 1322/2016 to transform the country’s economy, to create an efficient and favorable investment and business environment, to better complement the infrastructure, to accelerate technology transfer, to create job opportunities and reduce environmental impact. The training was given by Ato Ahmedunur Yusuf, Advisor to the EIC Commissioner.
